Re-Nylon, Monolith and the enamel triangle
The footwear shelf is the Monolith Chelsea boot, the Monolith padded and patent leather lace-ups, the Downtown and Downtown Bold leather sneakers, the America's Cup, brushed leather shoes and a leather ballerina. Outerwear is the Re-Nylon down jacket, the oversized technical Re-Nylon down coat, the Linea Rossa puffer vest, a technical puffer in black and the cropped triangle-logo padded jacket. Bags are the Re-Edition and a couple of others; the small run of apparel is tees, a shirt, a hoodie and shorts.
Prada runs in EU sizing and comes up narrow, so if you have a wide foot this is a brand to size up in rather than hope about. The Monolith lace-ups sit on a very thick lugged sole, which changes how the shoe feels at the same nominal size — allow for it. The apparel is cut close and true.
The inverted enamel triangle is the mark to inspect on nearly every piece. It should be a crisp metal plate with a smooth, evenly filled enamel face and sharp lettering, not a raised plastic-looking lozenge, and it is riveted or stitched onto a reinforced patch on the nylon pieces. On Re-Nylon itself, the fabric should be a tightly woven, slightly matte technical cloth with a firm hand — sheen is hard to judge in a warehouse photo, so ask for one in daylight.
